The World Health Organization and the United Nations Children’s Fund have released “Marketing of Breast-milk Substitutes: National Implementation of the International Code, Status Report 2026”

The World Health Organization (WHO) and the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) have released “Marketing of Breast-milk Substitutes: National Implementation of the International Code, Status Report 2026.” This report provides a global assessment of how well countries have implemented the International Code of Marketing of Breast-milk Substitutes and subsequent World Health Assembly resolutions through national legal measures. This year’s findings indicate some progress in incorporating the Code into law; however, the provisions for monitoring and enforcement are still insufficient. The report also highlights an association between the adoption of the Code and breastfeeding rates.
