CHEER CHAMPION OF THE WEEK: ANTOINETTE KLEINER, MSN, FNP
The CHAMPS National Virtual Breastfeeding Conference is coming up on September 17! Over the next few weeks, we’re celebrating the knowledgeable and passionate speakers as our CHAMPions of the Week.
Today’s CHAMPion Speaker is Antoinette Kleiner, MSN, FNP, a dedicated breastfeeding and maternity care advocate with over three decades of experience. As a mother of three grown children and grandmother of three grandsons, Antoinette’s passion for empowering mothers, families, and communities stems from her rich personal and professional journey.
Antoinette is a nursing instructor at the University of Guam, specializing in maternity/newborn and community health nursing. Through her teaching, she equips the next generation of nurses with the knowledge and skills to provide frontline feeding support and highlights the profound long-term and societal benefits of breastfeeding. Her work extends beyond the classroom as a member of the Guam Breastfeeding Action Team, where she collaborates with community organizations and healthcare professionals to advocate for breastfeeding mothers on Guam.
Antoinette’s nursing career is marked by her extensive experience across inpatient, outpatient, research, and lactation consulting services, serving families from diverse cultural backgrounds. Her mission is deeply rooted in welcoming cultural perspectives and driving meaningful change within our healthcare system and society. She believes her involvement with CHAMPS National will be instrumental in bringing awareness and resources to her home of Guam and the Peoples of the Pacific.
We are honored to have Antoinette Kleiner join us at the CHAMPS National conference. Don’t miss her session, ‘Pacific Perspectives Panel: Guam, Hawaii, Palau,’ where she will share valuable insights into breastfeeding and maternal care in Pacific communities.
