MIKELE NEAL, RN, MSN

Mikele Neal, RN, MSN, advances family-centered, evidence-based care across Northern Maine. At Northern Light Eastern Maine Medical Center, a CHAMPS National hospital, Mikele has spent nearly 26 years strengthening care for mothers, infants, and families throughout the region. As Associate Vice President of Patient Care Services, she leads women’s and children’s services, nursing education, and professional practice initiatives.

Mikele is especially passionate about fostering collaborative care environments where patients and healthcare teams can thrive. Her leadership has played an important role in advancing practice change initiatives and supporting improvements that strengthen outcomes for families and caregivers alike.

When asked what she enjoys most about her work, Mikele shared, “I enjoy supporting and developing nurses and care teams while seeing the direct impact of their work on patients and families. It’s incredibly rewarding to help create an environment where everyone can thrive.”

Mikele tells us: “Supporting breastfeeding and maternal-child health starts with empowering families through education, compassion, and evidence-based care. Every interaction is an opportunity to build confidence and create a strong foundation for lifelong health.”
