CHEER is celebrating a Mississippi CHAMPS hospital this week: Merit Health Woman’s Hospital was recently re-designated as Baby-Friendly!

Located in Flowood, Merit Health Woman’s is one of the only hospitals in Mississippi built exclusively for the care and treatment of women. The facility has been a part of CHAMPS since 2015 and became a designated Baby-Friendly facility in September 2018. Over the past few years, the hospital team has been dedicated to quality improvement work and sustainability.

“We at Merit Health Women’s are dedicated to keeping moms and babies healthy through our commitment to compassionate and quality care,” shares Nancey Beard, Baby-Friendly lead at the hospital. “This commitment has been a driving force behind Baby-Friendly designation, and now re-designation.
