CHEER CHAMPION OF THE WEEK: JENNIFER RILEY

Oct 6, 2025

Jennifer Riley, MSN, RN, IBCLC, is a compassionate leader in lactation care with over 15 years of experience supporting breastfeeding families. As a Lactation Consultant at Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston, MA, Jennifer plays a vital role on the Lactation Support Services team. She leads both the Baby-Friendly Hospital Initiative and CHAMPS efforts at her institution.

Jennifer’s work is rooted in a deep commitment to equity and access. Her professional focus includes expanding access to pasteurized donor human milk (PDHM) for full-term infants and improving breastfeeding support for Spanish-speaking families through a grant-funded, culturally tailored initiative at Brigham and Women’s Hospital. By recognizing and addressing the needs of historically marginalized communities, Jennifer ensures that all families receive high-quality, person-centered care.

In addition to her clinical work, Jennifer serves as co-chair of the Massachusetts Baby-Friendly Collaborative, where she works with hospitals and stakeholders across the state to advance evidence-based maternity practices and breastfeeding support. Her leadership is characterized by collaboration, innovation, and a steadfast commitment to the importance of inclusive care.

Jennifer shares, “Supporting families who are on the margins of our healthcare system and providing them with the best breastfeeding support possible is my passion. I believe that ALL dyads deserve to get the best start in life through access to breast milk and breastfeeding.”

CHEER is honored to recognize Jennifer as our CHAMPion of the Week for her outstanding leadership and unwavering dedication to helping all families thrive through breastfeeding.
