CHEER CHAMPION OF THE WEEK: ALEXANDRA TSANGARAKIS, MPH CANDIDATE

This week’s CHAMPion is an aspiring public health leader with a multidimensional perspective on maternal-child health equity. Alexandra Tsangarakis is pursuing a Master of Public Health (MPH) degree at Boston University, with a concentration in Healthcare Management and dual certificates in Maternal & Child Health and Pharmaceutical Development, Access, and Delivery. With experience in research, patient advocacy, and healthcare operations, she strives to bridge clinical care with community-driven solutions. Alexandra supports patient care at Brigham and Women’s Hospital and leads social media outreach at Accompany Doula Care.
Wearing many hats as a graduate student, medical scribe, and social media intern, Alexandra is most energized when amplifying the voices of diverse families. “I find profound inspiration in understanding individual healthcare journeys and translating these insights into more inclusive, effective approaches to improving maternal and child health outcomes,” she shares.
After graduating from Boston University in May, Alexandra plans to continue her work as an advocate for maternal-child health, supporting families from the start. “Breastfeeding is more than nourishment—it’s a foundation for lifelong health. When we invest in supporting parents through education, workplace accommodations, and community resources, we create a future where every child and family can thrive from the very beginning.”
Congratulations to Alexandra and all graduates! We look forward to seeing all that you accomplish.
