CHEER CHAMPION OF THE WEEK: ANGELA FERGUSON-PARKER
For nearly two decades, Angela Ferguson-Parker has been a trusted source of guidance, compassion, and expertise for new families at Southwest Mississippi Regional Medical Center (SMRMC) in McComb, Mississippi. As a Lactation Counselor in the Labor, Delivery, Recovery, and Postpartum (LDRP) Department, Angela has spent 18 years helping mothers and babies thrive through breastfeeding.
Angela’s work goes far beyond clinical care; she meets every family with patience, empathy, and encouragement. Whether she’s helping a new mother latch her baby for the first time or offering reassurance during a challenging moment, Angela brings knowledge and heart to everything she does. Her philosophy is simple: breastfeeding is the first choice, because it is the best choice for both mothers and babies.
Reflecting on her journey, Angela shares, “My greatest joy was breastfeeding my own children. My continuous joy is helping and supporting so many amazing mothers experience their own personal joy of successfully breastfeeding their children.”
CHEER proudly celebrates Angela Ferguson-Parker as our CHAMPion of the Week for her steadfast dedication, her passion for empowering families, and her lasting impact on maternal and child health across southwest Mississippi.
