CHEER CHAMPION OF THE WEEK: JEANNETTE C. MYRICK, MPH

Jun 23, 2025

Jeannette Myrick, MPH, is a dedicated researcher and doula whose work centers on equity in perinatal care. Jeannette is a member of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston, MA, and manages the Supportive Birth Collaborative, a multidisciplinary team working to improve pregnancy and postpartum care at BIDMC. She contributes to research focused on strengthening collaboration between doulas and hospitals, adapting racial justice tools for healthcare, and supporting perinatal mental health through the Doula Link study.

In addition to her research role, Jeannette is a data specialist and practicing doula with Accompany Doula Care, a community-based doula organization. There, she supports birthing people directly while leading efforts to track outcomes, evaluate service delivery, and advocate for the value of community-rooted care.

Jeannette’s passion lies in translating data into action to improve real-world care systems. “What I enjoy most about my work is the opportunity to apply implementation science to real-world, community-based care,” she shares. “I’m passionate about improving systems that support both perinatal people and the professionals who care for them, especially doulas.”

CHEER celebrates Jeannette’s commitment to community-centered, equity-driven research and her tireless work supporting birthing families. We are proud to honor her as our CHAMPion of the Week!
