CHEER CHAMPION OF THE WEEK: NATHALIE ADAMS, LMSW, PMH-C

Mar 8, 2025

Nathalie Adams, LMSW, PMH-C, is a wife, mother of two energetic boys, and a dedicated perinatal social worker at the Waterbury Hospital Family Birthing Center and NICU in Connecticut. Our newest CHAMPion of the Week is deeply committed to supporting families during childbirth and the postpartum period, providing compassionate, evidence-based care, trauma-informed guidance, and counseling resources.

After struggling with postpartum depression and anxiety with her first child during COVID-19 and having to navigate a short journey through the NICU, Nathalie became passionate about helping other mothers who may have felt the same way. She strives to empower individuals and families through her work, ensuring they feel supported and informed every step of the way.

“Being able to provide practical resources and a compassionate presence to new parents is incredibly fulfilling,” shares Nathalie. “It is rewarding to know that I can make a positive difference in someone’s experience – even if it’s just one person, whether through guiding them through difficult decisions or simply offering reassurance and comfort.”

Nathalie values the collaborative nature of her role, working alongside a multidisciplinary team to promote holistic care. She works closely with lactation at Waterbury Hospital to ensure patients feel supported through the early days of the breastfeeding journey. Additionally, she supports the CHAMPS National initiative at the hospital as a member of their ‘Steps Team.’

Nathalie is passionate about advocating for mothers to feel confident and empowered in their feeding choices. She says, “By supporting and encouraging breastfeeding, we can create stronger, healthier families!”

We are honored to spotlight Nathalie for her commitment to maternal and infant health.
