ALI AL-ANZI

Meet a member of the CHEER International Group (CHEERing) and this week’s CHAMPion, Ali Al-Anzi. Ali joined CHEERing as an energetic volunteer and skilled football (soccer) coach in October. In less than two months, he helped launch CHEERing’s new football program for youth in Thiba Refugee Camp!

Ali and five supporting coaches train about 40 children every day through CHEERing’s youth football programs. CHEERing’s grant from the Barca Foundation funds participants’ equipment and uniforms. Additionally, the international group conducts health screenings and provides basic health care to the team and their families, including vitamin and iron supplements, hygiene products, and first aid.

Ali shares, “My favorite part about volunteering with CHEERing is working with children, helping them and seeing their smiles!”

From Kuwait, Ali hopes to be a professional trainer or athlete one day. For now, we are thrilled he is a part of the CHEERing team.
