We’re celebrating TWO CHAMPions this week: Mississippi CHAMPS hospitals Baptist Memorial Hospital – North Mississippi and Merit Health Wesley were recently re-designated as Baby-Friendly!

Baptist Memorial Hospital – North Mississippi provides family-focused, high-quality maternity services to its community in Oxford, MS. The hospital has been a part of CHAMPS since 2015 and became a designated Baby-Friendly facility in 2018. Over the past few years, the BMH team has been dedicated to quality improvement work and sustainability.

Located in Hattiesburg, Mississippi, Merit Health Wesley has long been committed to keeping moms, families, and the smallest members of its community healthy. The hospital joined CHAMPS in 2016, determined to improve breastfeeding education, resources, and support. After five years of dedication and quality improvement work, the hospital was re-designated as Baby-Friendly in May 2024.
