CHEER CHAMPION OF THE WEEK: LAETITIA PIERRE-LOUIS
Today’s CHAMPion of the Week doubles as the launch of our Meet the Team Monday staff spotlights. Introducing CHEER’s newest team member and Research Assistant, Laetitia Pierre-Louis.
Laetitia is passionate about education and fighting against healthcare disparities. She is currently a member of Boston University’s Advancing Equity in Health Research Advisory Board, where together with community leaders, she actively works to increase inclusivity, community ownership, and engagement within all phases of research. Previously, Laetitia worked as the Health Equity and Youth Coordinator at the Center to Support Immigrant Organizing, addressing barriers to health within diverse immigrant communities in Boston. She also served as the Director of Youth Programs at We Got Us, an organization aimed at combating racism and tackling health inequities through increasing access to education and health resources.
“Throughout my work, I’ve discovered the importance of building bridges for continuous dialogue, centering the voices of the underserved. It is in this collaboration that initiatives can effectively serve the unique needs of communities impacted by health disparities,” shares Laetitia. “To me, addressing health equity involves partnering with community members to shape the trajectory of public health initiatives, empowering and valuing their voices every step of the way.”
Laetitia brings extensive experience in health equity, community health, and more to CHEER. We are thrilled to have her on our team!
