Congratulations to South Central Regional Medical Center, CHEER’s CHAMPion of the Week! After years of dedication and continuous quality improvement, the team has officially earned re-designation as a Baby-Friendly hospital.

Located in Laurel, Mississippi, South Central Regional Medical Center has been a CHAMPS partner since June 2018 and first achieved Baby-Friendly designation in June 2022. Throughout its journey, the team has shown a strong commitment to improving breastfeeding support, promoting safe infant feeding practices, and providing patient- and family-centered maternity care.

“Being re-designated as Baby-Friendly takes a lot of dedication and hard work by all of our Women’s & Children’s staff. It is not just about the title of being Baby-Friendly, but it is knowing that we have played such a key role in giving our littles and their families the best possible start,” shares Amy Dickerson, RN Coordinator, South Central Regional Medical Center. “We absolutely love seeing our families in town, hearing their success stories, and seeing everyone thriving!
