Previous/Other Current Work: Dorothy Joy is dedicated to all things health and wellness. She has previously studied herbal medicine to better understand the cultural connections people have with plants and medicine. Being especially drawn to families between maternity and the fourth trimester, she has studied postpartum doula care, recently became an Indigenous Lactation Counselor, and will be undergoing training to become a full-spectrum doula. She is also passionate about mutual aid outreach on the island that addresses financial barriers to healthcare and food security. Currently, Dorothy Joy is a senior nursing student at the University of Guam. She dreams of pursuing midwifery and one day volunteering for a humanitarian aid organization.
Activities of Choice: Mothering, traveling, reading, and learning languages.
Fun Fact: I am a black belt in both Taekwondo and Karate, but have not practiced either in years!
