ATHIRA SURESH, MPH CANDIDATE

Focus: Maternal and Child Health, Intersectional Health Equity, Communications; Certificates in Epidemiology and Biostatistics, and Maternal & Child Health

Previous/Other Current Work: Athira previously supported women’s health and reproductive justice as the Founder/President of the National Organization for Women chapter at the University of Texas at Dallas, where she led campus-wide advocacy initiatives and educational programming on gender equity. She also worked as a medical scribe in emergency departments in Texas, gaining direct clinical insight into patient care. Athira is currently the Maternal and Child Health Research Fellow at Boston University, conducting research in collaboration with the Yale School of Public Health to enhance the recruitment and retention of BIPOC participants in reproductive health studies. Additionally, she serves as the Communications Officer for Boston University’s Emerging Women Leaders program, leading efforts to promote leadership among women and underrepresented communities in public health.
