CHAMPS National recently hosted an in-person Train-the-Trainer (TTT) and networking event in Montgomery, Alabama, bringing together hospital teams and community partners dedicated to advancing maternal and infant health.

Held at the Montgomery County Health Department, the training focused on equipping participants with the skills and tools needed to educate staff using CHAMPS National resources. Attendees, including nurse educators, lactation consultants, and team leads, engaged in hands-on activities, such as practicing competency assessments, which sparked thoughtful discussion, strong engagement, and meaningful peer learning.

The energy in the room was palpable, with participants asking insightful questions and actively collaborating throughout the session. One attendee shared that despite a long, three-hour drive and initial hesitation, attending the training was “worth every mile,” a testament to the value and impact of in-person connection and learning.
