CHAMPS National Hospitals

CHAMPS National is a 3-year, CDC-funded program to help hospitals increase exclusive breastfeeding rates, improve maternity care, and decrease racial disparities. We’ve enrolled 100 hospitals across the United States to receive free expert training and support to safely implement the Ten Steps to Successful Breastfeeding. Free Training

Enrolled hospitals receive customized, free training on breastfeeding and best practices for maternity staff, anchored in safety, equity, and Quality Improvement (QI). Visit the CHAMPS National Training Platform to learn more.

1:1 Coaching

Each hospital has received its own expert coach, who helps determine training needs, overcome barriers to change, and track data to chart progress.

Joining A Movement

Hospitals are part of a 100-hospital team, learning together and sharing joy and angst. They participate in webinars and conferences, sharing challenges, strategies, and insights.

Community Connection

CHAMPS National empowers communities by working with local WIC and providing Community Transformer trainings for advocacy and breastfeeding support groups.
