ANA DOLAN, MPH CANDIDATE

Focus: Health Policy and Law; Reproductive Justice; Maternal and Child Health; Social Justice and Human Rights; Health Equity

Previous/Other Current Work: Ana is an MPH candidate at Boston University School of Public Health, concentrating in Health Policy and Law. She brings deep, practice-based experience in maternal health through her work as a volunteer birth doula, certified postpartum doula, and lactation counselor with Birthing Gently, where she provided trauma-informed, culturally responsive care to diverse families across Greater Boston. In these roles, Ana witnessed firsthand how structural inequities—race, insurance status, language barriers, provider bias—shape individuals’ access to care and their ability to exercise reproductive autonomy. These experiences broadened her focus to include advocacy, sharpening her understanding of where systems fail the people they’re meant to serve. She is passionate about reproductive justice and committed to bridging the gap between policy and lived experience in maternal and child health.
